James R. Rodgers, age 88, of Hazelwood, on Saturday, January 6, 2018 after a two year battle with cancer.  Devoted husband of 46 years to Marlene (Obiecunas) Rodgers; loving father of Gayle (Mike) Martin, Sherry (Joe) Adragna, Karen (Bob) White, Susan, James, and Daniel Rodgers; proud Pappy of JoAnna Martin, Ricky (Shanna) White, Sean (Emma) Martin, Savannah (Dustin) Hilliard, Joey (Savannah) Adragna and Anthony Adragna; great "Pappy" of Ethan, Kaitlin, Bryer and Beckett, and Dakota and Joey.  Al;so survived by many nieces and nephews.  Friend received on Tuesday 6-8 p.m. and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday in the Elmer L Herman Funeral Home, 5204 Second Ave.  Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10 a.m. in St Stephen Parish, Hazelwood.  Jim served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  Jim was a true Irishman who love his famiy and his dog, Angel.  He was a avid gardener and enjoyed being outside.  In lieu of flowers, then famiky requests donations be made to: The Wounded Warrior Project of Pittsburgh, 301 Grant St., Suite 900, Pittsburgh, PA  15219.
