Stephen (Doug) Douglas Cowell

Mr. Stephan Douglas (Doug) Cowell, born on April 10, 1951 to the late Shirley (Balliard) Cowell, passed away at age 67 on June 2, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Doug was a Chinese waiter most of his career. He had a lifelong love of caring for horses.  At one point he owned 13 horses and was a farrier specialist in equine hoof care, including the trimming and balancing of horses' hooves and the placing of shoes on their hooves, if necessary.

He also loved old cars, motorcycles and music. 

He is survived by his brother, Jamie Cowell and many friends. Doug was a faithful and contributing member of the Baha’i Faith. Arrangements are been handled by the Elmer L. Herman Funeral Home in Hazelwood, PA.  Friends may attend Doug's graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery, 321 Kittanning Pike, Sharpsburg on Friday, June 8 at 2:00 p.m.
