James Dugas Obituary

James M. Dugas, age 72, lifetime resident of Hazelwood passed away

on Sunday, July 17, 2022 in his residence.

James has been frequently referred to as the "Artist of Hazelwood" by his friends.

James Dugas is an artist and an art handler. Four series of his paintings are hung promiscuously on a white wall. They have been in preparation over some five years and outline his explorations of paint, form and color during that time. Acrylic paint is both the medium and the support.

Son of the late James R. and Eleanor G. (Newcomer) Dugas.

Brother in law of Beverly and the late Raymond Lerner and the late Colleen Dugas.

Uncle of Colleen Lerner-Weber, Timothy Lerner and Damon Dugas

and numerous great nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Gladstone High School, University of Chicago and Carnegie Mellon University.

He was retired from the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. 

Per his wishes, his family will be celebrating his life privately.
