Kathy Christine (Genock) Higgs

Kathy Christine Higgs (Genock) age 68, of Hazelwood passed away on Sunday,
November 21st, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Kathy was born on March 21, 1953 in New Castle, Pennsylvania to Frank and Lucille
Genock. She graduated from New Castle Senior High and attended the New Castle
School of Business before becoming a mother to her four sons.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Roger, her four sons Matthew (Kelly) Genock,
Michael (Nicole), Phillip and Joseph Pegnato, her seven grandsons Santino, Angelo,
Carlo, Nickolas, Dominic, Vincent and Louie. She was predeceased by her father
Frank and her mother Lucille.
She lived a life worth remembering. A lover of animals, Kathy often saved animals
left behind. Her father once had to build a pen for all of the strays she rescued, she
wanted to save every one. She loved music and books, her spirit lives on through
her children who adopted her love of the Beatles and Stephen King.
Family and friends attended a celebration of Kathy's life gathering.
