PITTSBURGH – Mary Ruth (Hentosz) Wytias (Kotula)
Age 99, of Hazelwood peacefully passed away on Christmas Day,

December 25, 2021 in Oak Ridge, Tenn.  Mary was a retired phone operator.
Mary was born June 7, 1922 in Connellsville, PA, the second youngest of 6 children. She is survived by John Hentosz, 98, of Akron, Ohio, who she always called her “baby” brother.
She married Willis Wytias and moved to Pittsburgh, where they owned a “pop” shop and recreational club. Although she had no children of her own, she was a loving and caring aunt, "Chocha Mary" to many.
For 22 years Mary made pierogies weekly at the St John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Southside. She was always serving and taking care of others.
At 85, many years widowed, she married Michael Kotula, 88, who she had known for over 60 years.  She then became a loving mom, grandma, and great grandma to Michael’s family.
She was one of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ most devoted fans and had a Steelers’ blanket on her bed.
Mary was a loving, caring soul to all who knew her, and whose wit was honest and joyful.
A Ukrainian Catholic graveside service and internment will be held in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Cemetery, Baldwin Boro
