Penny Hund West, age 73, of State College, PA on Friday, April 9 2021. Born in New York, NY to the late Walter and Geraldine Hund. After graduating from Concordia College in Bronxville, NY and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center-School of Nursing, Penny dedicated her life to nursing and caring for others.
Penny had many interests and talents. She trained at the Cordon Blue in Paris, France and enjoyed presenting her exquisite creations to friends and neighbors. She was an accomplished horsewoman and loved riding Injun Joe. She also loved long walks with her Malamut Keri. Her flower and vegetable gardens were productive and she enjoyed the bounty. Most of all, Penny was an animal rescuer and she welcomed many stray cats into her home.
Penny was predeceased by her parents; niece Christine Loetel, her beloved horse Injun Joe and Malamute Keri She leaves behind her sister, Pamela Hund of Springfield, MO and her niece Stephanie (Allan) Reeves and their children and her family of rescued cats. Many dear neighbors and friends also mourn Penny's passing including Dottie Schickling and Shelley Kempner who loved her like a sister.
Penny will rest in the Rivermonte Memorial Gardens, Springfied, MO.
